Registered Nurse – Short Stay Acute Alternative, Piri Pono

Pioneering peer-led residential service requires a registered nurse to walk alongside guests during their stay, at their stunning Silverdale location.

Connect Supporting Recovery is a reputable NGO providing recovery focused mental health and addictions care service throughout Auckland and Hamilton, with $9million revenues and FTE staff numbers of 140.

There is a mix of peer-led, mainstream, dual diagnosis and collaborative services, including residential and respite facilities, mobile community teams, assisted employment agencies and a fledgling but vibrant social enterprise.

An opportunity exists within our interdisciplinary team at Piri Pono, for a nursing position with a sound background in clinical mental health care and an exciting future in community based service delivery.

This service will require an individual who can:

• Take responsibility for ensuring all nursing practice and conduct meets ethical and legislative requirements
• Work rostered shifts
• Whilst fully embracing alternative and non-clinical mental health treatment options.
• Work alongside Peer Support Workers who practice within the Intentional Peer Support model;
• Collaborate strongly with guests, their whanau, non-clinical colleagues and WDHB staff;
• To deliver truly negotiated and effective partnership nursing.

Registered Nurses Hamilton

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 fulltime and 1 parttime Registered Nurses.

Who We Are
Connect Supporting Recovery is an established NGO delivering recovery focused mental health care services in Auckland and Hamilton with $9 million revenues and FTE staff numbers of 140.

A long, strong history of successful growth has resulted in 5 residential and respite facilities, several mobile community teams, assisted employment and housing agencies. There is a mix of peer-led, non-peer, dual diagnosis and collaborative services, including a vibrant social enterprise.

The Service
Hamilton is our largest residential facility, where a talented and effective multi-disciplinary team delivers residential, clinical and support programmes for “high and complex needs” for individuals from Adult Mental Health and Forensic Mental Health Services. There are opportunities for people with their own lived experience of mental health and recovery to join the team and can act as role models to others.

We currently have full time and part time position’s available for Registered Nurses. New graduates are welcome to apply.

In addition to your Nursing qualification:

• Mental health or relevant sector experience preferred.
• Client-centered, recovery-focused approach.
• Comfortable communicating with Whanau & external agencies.
• Culturally sensitive.
• An ability to make common sense decisions.
• A full Drivers Licence
• A current Annual Practicing Certificate.
• A working knowledge of MS Office.
• A great sense of humor.
• Dynamic, loves change, brings ideas, energy to drive positive changes within the sector.
